enCompassing Visions System Requirements
enCompassing Visions is a ‘Web' application. The access to the system is entirely through the user's Internet Explorer browser. The data resides in SQL Server and it is possible, and in some cases preferable, for the data to reside on a different server from the application code.
The following system requirements are considered minimum requirements. Better performance for large installations can be achieved with more powerful servers and more memory.
Server
- Windows 2000 Server with SP4 or Windows Server 2003
- SQL Server 2000 or SQL Server 2005
- Internet Information Service Version 6 or later
- 512 Mb Ram
- 20 - 200 Mb free hard drive space (depending on the number of jobs and employees)
- NOTE: SQL Server needs to be running in Mixed Authentication Mode. The enCompassing Visions application requires SQL Authentication rather than NT Authentication.
Client
- Internet Explorer 6 or later is required on all client machines. Other browsers will not work.
SQL Mail
In order to take advantage of all the features of enCompassing Visions, the SQL Server used for the database must have the ability to send mail. Instructions are not included as the options for configuring SQL Mail depend on your mail service. A complete description of how to configure SQL Mail can be found at:

Microsoft Components
These Microsoft components are required for the installation of enCompassing Visions. If not already present on the server, all are readily available from the Microsoft web site at: http://msdn2.microsoft.com
- Microsoft Scripting Engine
- Microsoft XML Parser
- Microsoft Data Access Components
